Yahoo! recently contacted me about a particular post's content. As such I was forced to remove the offending post. Without restrictions means what it means but within reason, guys. UHPS is NOT in an Adult Catagoy and therefore we must watch the content that we place on its servers. I remind you all that Yahoo! is kind enough to allow us the use of those servers and we must respect their rules as if they were allowing us to use their homes. ^_^ If you have any questions about what is acceptable for UHPS, and any other non-AC group, please consult the Y! UHPS Important Information There are a few things that you need to know about the United Harry Potters Slashers Mailing List First, this is mainly a list for slash (homo-erotic fics) writers and readers who LOVE Harry Potter Slash. And second, this list may have adulty type material on it. So with that out of the way, lets get down to business, shall we? First off I would like to suggest that you set your groups email settings to "Do not convert the emails sent to me". This will send you all the emails that are sent to the group in text format. All email and URL links will still work if you email client/WEBmail client supports the ability but the major ads will be in text format and will take up less space in your inbox (and you wont have to scroll through it in the fics that are sent through... ^_~) As of 200112.13, UHPS will require that all fics be RATED. If you are unsure what your fic's rating should then please click here for a list of what is what. If you are still unsure then please contact a Moderator. This is what you are allowed to do on the United Harry Potters Slashers Mailing List: Post fics - either your own or spinoffs of others Post pics - Mainly anything HP, but the slasher the better (no nudity please... I would love to see your art here but if it is "X" then I will be forced to delete it, and I do not want to do that. There are those who do not want to see that stuff and I have to be nice to them). Read fics/Admire pics - This is always allowed. I hope that you enjoy them. Lurk - You dont have to say anything. Not even an introduction is needed (though highly encouraged). Rate/Grade/Review - Tell the writer or artist what you think, either by rating the fic, grading the fic, or reviewing it. Which ever you choose, be honest but civil (if you dont like it)or shower them with your glee and adoration (if you do). This is what you can NOT do on the United Harry Potters Slashers Mailing List Flame - Under no circumstances will this be tolerated. You get one chance. One. After that I ban you. Degrade - I know that this is alot like flame so I will elaborate. Do NOT tell someone ONLIST: That their writings are not any good, that they are not any good, that their artwork is not any good, etc... I think that you see my point. This has a ZERO tolerance limit. Once and you are gone. People join this list to share their creativity and not everyone is a Michaelangelo or a Rowling. I will not stand anyone degrading them for that. It takes courage to do something like put a piece of art or a story on the web. You will be civil or else. Becoming an Active Member Once you have joined there are several ways that you can become an active member of UHPS. The easiest is to post. Drop us a line and tell us who you are. After that jump into a discussion and say your piece. We all want to read what you have to say. Once you get tired of that, you can always try your hand at writing or drawing. And if you like what you have done, then we are sure that there will be others that will as well. Go ahead and post it. We want to see it.
